Brownie with dark beer
Categories : Pairing and beer recipes
Chocolate is one of the foods children and adults love it around the world. Therefore is not surprising that it has its own day on the calendar: September 13th is International Chocolate Day, that delicious “food of the gods” as the Aztecs called it. On this occasion, we have decided to sweeten the days before autumn by mixing this divine food with our great passion, craft beer.
Surely, thanks to this peculiar mixture and the inherent properties of its ingredients, we will produce lots of endorphins, which are responsible for stimulating the brain areas that produce pleasure to our body, and we will have a wonderful feeling with each bite to these "Beer-Brownies".
120g of butter
140g of chocolate
125g of flour
50g of cocoa powder
60g of brown sugar
130g of white sugar
125ml dark beer Dougall’s Session Stout
- Preheat oven to 180º.
- In the microwave, melt the chocolate with the butter (around 30 seconds), and mix with the dark beer.
- Into a large mixing bowl, add eggs with brown and white sugar, add flour and cocoa powder (previously mixed). To continue, pour the mix of chocolate, butter and beer of point 2. Optional put nuts, chocolate chips or even toffee candies in.
- Mix well and pour into a prepared dish with baking paper so that it does not stick.
- Finally, bake for 30 minutes, to make sure it is cooked. We should only poke with a toothpick and if it comes clean, our brownie with black beer will be ready.
Serve as "brownies a la mode", that is, with vanilla ice cream over the brownie when it is still hot and with our favourite topping.
According to various sources, Brownie (or also called “Boston brownie”) could be the result of a culinary accident, so from here, we send our most sincere thanks to the American cook who forgot to put yeast on the cake he made because of thanks to it ... we delight in this succulent recipe!
